Now I am sure you still have some more questions, so here is the FAQ section to hopefully answer as many of those as possible!
1. How do I know if I will like the design?
The design is very modern, so it will be a good fit for anyone who likes modern quilting, or really wants to explore a modern design aesthetic. The quilt is composed of 9 different 20” x 20” blocks; included with the instructions for each block will be an alternative idea on how to use that block design.
2. What size quilt does it make?
The 9 blocks make a 60” x 60” quilt, but there are additional finishing instructions that you can use to increase the quilt to 70” x 80” or 90” x 90”.
3. How do I pick fabrics if I don’t know what the quilt looks like?
When you sign up you will receive a guide to choosing colors, which will include different suggestions and advice on how to pick colors and fabrics that will work well in the quilt.
4. I am a beginner quilter. Could I make this quilt?
A confident beginner can make this quilt. Just be aware that you will be sewing some basic curves (there will be a tutorial).
5. I am worried about running out of fabric before I finish the quilt.
Don’t worry, the first set of instructions includes details for cutting the initial set of strips which will then be cross cut as you progress through the blocks so you will not run out of fabric.
6. Can I still take part if the quilt-along has already started?
Yes! You can sign up for the quilt-along through August 10th, if you sign up late you will receive all the instructions that have already been released when you sign up.
7. Is this a BOM?
No, instructions for the blocks will be released every 2 weeks rather than every month. The hope is that this timeline will give everyone enough time to comfortably make their blocks while still allowing the quilt to be completely finished in plenty of time for quilty weather.
