The Stitchers Book Swap 2022
After all of the hints I have been dropping this shouldn’t be a huge surprise but I am happy to announce my first swap, The Stitchers Book Swap! Inspired by summer reading programs (why can’t we have these as adults?) and National Book Lovers Day, this swap is perfect for everyone who loves to read and do any type of stitching.
So what exactly will the swap involve? Great question! After the sign up period ends everyone will be paired up with a partner. You will send your partner (and receive in return) a handmade book cover and book. There will also be prizes each week for those that fulfill the week's prompt. And there are several exciting fat quarter bundles, patterns and more for the weekly prizes.
Sounds like fun, right?! But how much time will you have to do all of this? That’s the best part: this is set up to be a very relaxed process, with plenty of time for you to finish everything up. Signup opens today and runs through July 4th, and you will receive information on your partner July 6th.
Assignment for Week 1 (closes July 6th) is to post your digital badge (more about this later).
Assignment for Week 2 (closes July 16th) is to post a picture of your fabric pull.
Assignment for Week 3 (closes July 22nd) is to post a picture from a random page of the book you will be sending.
Assignment for Week 4(closes July 29th) mail your book and book cover, and post a picture showing it has been mailed.

So now to cover a few basic rules: 1.This swap is only open to US residents (apologies to my international friends, but I promise something exciting is coming this fall for you to participate in, so stay tuned). 2. To be eligible for the prizes you need to have a public Instagram account and be following me (@createdesignmake365); you do not need to have a public or any instagram account to participate in the swap itself. 3. The book used in the swap does not need to be new, but it should be in good condition. 4. And you agree to ship your book cover and book by July 29th.

Go here to purchase your Digital Swap Badge ($5), your purchase will include the digital badge, basic instructions for making a book cover in two sizes, and the full instructions/timeline for the swap. Make sure you keep your Order Number handy, you will need it for the next step.

Once you are signed up, post your digital badge to your Instagram account as your week 1 activity.
Sign up is just that simple, and this is a great opportunity to have some fun with new skills and techniques, from EPP to embroidery, and FPP to curved piecing. There are a ton of options, and I will be sharing examples during the signup period.
