Modern Wedding Ring Sew Along

It’s the last day of the year and unlike December 31, 2022 which I spent in Iceland, this year I am at home watching all the celebrations online and seeing everyone write about their highlights from the past year and goals for the New Year. I have no idea what to add to my highlight reel for this year (I think I might do a finishes reel rather than a highlight reel), and still working on the goals for next year (the backlog has gone down but it still needs work). But there are two goals that everyone has been talking about that I understand and think I can actually help with. 

The first is using more of their own stash. I totally understand this, with rising costs of material it financially makes more sense to use up our scraps and stash as quilters. It also is better for the environment because it produces less textile waste, win-win. The second is finding time to be creative. So often everything else pushes that time to the bottom of the list until it ends up going by the wayside. However having a group that you are working with, a project that you commit to finish can help keep that creative time a priority. 

So how can I help you with these goals? The Modern Wedding Ring Sew Along. 

The Modern Wedding Ring pattern was designed as the ideal scrap buster, something that could use up leftover precuts, and would have a clear design even with dozens of fabrics being used. So right off the bat the pattern is going to help you achieve goal one. But what about goal two? That is where the sew along part comes in. By signing up you are committing six weeks to carving out time each week to work on a quilt top until it is complete. Each week you will get a new tutorial, tips for the week's objective and encouragement to keep going.  

Even better you get to choose what size quilt you make so if you know the beginning of the year is always hectic for you, make the smallest size, or if it’s the slowest time of the year go for the largest size. Either way you can start your year off by working on two of your goals and completing a goal.
